This is a free, but excellent tour with the most amazing tour guides! So friendly and enthusiastic.To check out the caves used for cooling, before the era of refrigeration is worth the trip. Beer tasting at the end and they do have an awesome gift shop .
This is a free tour that requires walking through wet tunnels, and climbing stairs. It is more of a historical/operation tour, than about beer brewing. With that said, I thought the tour was neat. The history was interesting. The staff was friendly enough. And you get samples at the end! I'd recommend this tour!
USA's oldest brewery established in early 1900s now run by family's 5th generation!!! amazing thing is 500 ft long tunnel in the mountain dug manually in those days for fresh water used for making great beer!!
I've done this free tour several times because I love showing friends from out of the area what a one-of-a-kind, historic business Pottsville has right in the heart of town. It is not only the oldest brewery in America, but probably the one with the most interesting story and facility. All guides are very knowledgeable and proud of the brewery. The free beer (or birch beer) for all visitors is a great finish to the tour. The gift shop has fun/historical souvenirs for all budgets.
Took the tour today, I believe JJ (?) was our guide. Very impressive. She did a fantastic job. Very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. She made the tour very enjoyable. Nice getting all the history and personal attention a robot can't give like some other breweries I've toured around the country. This was one of my favorites. Although parking my crew cab was definitely a chore in town lol.
